The original Iowa Farm Boys was started by the Channon Family.
Two brothers, Bob and Bill, along with their father Ray and the rest of their family
came to California from their farm in Grimes, Iowa in the early 40's.
By the late 40's Bob was working for a trailer dealer on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City outside what was then Republic Studios.
Bill and Ray operated Rand Trailer Sales and All Brands Trailer Sales in Glendale and El Monte, California.
Bob went on to work for Stout Motors in Glendale, California where he became sales manager.

By the late 50's Bob was ready to open his own operation in Glendale, California which he called Iowa Farm Boys Trailer Sales.
Bill opened his own lot in El Monte. While Bob and Bill shared a similar business name they
maintained separate businesses with a very friendly rivalry as brothers are prone to do.

Bob moved from his first location to a larger one on San Fernando Road still in Glendale.
Bill after a few years decided to move his operation to Arizona in the Verde Valley where he developed
a mobile home park and continued to sell mobile homes and trailers. Today in 2001 Bill is semi retired and still living in Arizona.

Bob had also expanded his operation to selling new and used trailers, mobile homes and motor homes.
Expanding development pushed him to move his business from Glendale to Burbank, California
and then on to North Hollywood, California in the mid 80's. From there, because of his declining health,
he operated on a much smaller scale until his passing in September 1996.

After Bob's passing his daughter Sue with help from her husband Mel formed
IOWA BOYS, LLC  which has been operating since October 1996.

Currently we are concentrating on vintage & used trailers and with an emphasis on sales,
repairs, refurbishing and studio rentals for on camera use.
